Around 2004 I got a job doing administrative assistant type work. I had a computer, but they had most of the internet pages I liked to go to restricted. This was very discouraging, as I would sit my entire 8 hour shift playing “Minesweeper.”
One day a co-worker of mine saw me playing that game, and he asked why don’t I just surf the web while I’m bored. I told him that they had everything blocked and restricted. He then introduced me to something that would change my life. He showed me a PROXY WEBSITE!! This website was not anything extraordinary. There were no flashy graphics or hip indie techno music. It was a simple website with a few advertisements on it, and an address bar that looked like a search engine.
